An Active Body is a Learning Body

Active Learning for Active Bodies

Learning through movement facilitates brain development and stimulates mental growth. Inspired by the mind-body connection research, our program combines physical activity and learning to achieve the most effective results.

Ready, Steady, Move! / ¡Preparados, Listos, Ya!– Fitness & Language Integration

Our “Ready, Steady, Move!” (RSM) program combines dance, Pilates, and yoga with Spanish vocabulary learning. RSM uses songs, games, stories, and exercises to improve children’s flexibility, balance, muscular endurance, and language skills.

RSM is not just a fitness program—it’s a lifestyle approach that teaches children lifelong healthy habits. Physical movement activates neural pathways, enhancing language learning, comprehension, and memory. RSM’s fundamental principle is that “an active body is a learning body,” demonstrating how movement and language techniques taught together can lead to improved fitness, health, and language retention.
RSM provides daily activities that offer significant physical and mental benefits, including:

• Encouraging a healthy body weight
• Building vigorous, healthy muscles, bones, and joints
• Developing interpersonal skills
• Enhancing academic performance
• Preventing chronic diseases
• Boosting self-esteem and self-image

Through yoga, Pilates, song and dance, children easily learn English, French, Spanish, Mandarin, Turkish, German or Russian. This video shows the integration of movement and language learning.
